Hi.
There is quite weird behavior of my EOS-3 metering I would like to get
advised about:
I run through certain metering test shooting 18% gray and white boards
whilst the camera is fixed on tripod. (I suspect there is the famous 2/3
stop underexposure decease my camera is suffering from).
Well, I noticed that there is very high sensitivity of the metering to the
light passed through the viewfinder. When looking through it while
photographing (the eye is very close to the finder thereby almost blocking
the finder light leakage) there is certain exposure metered by the camera.
However, as soon as I back off leaving the finder open, the meter suddenly
jumps up about
1.5 to 2 full stop towards underexposure from the initial metered value
(with viewfinder blocked from the light). This is very strange. I would
expect the metering system should be almost completely insensitive to the
light passing through the finder from the back of the camera
(there was no direct light beams from behind the camera), perhaps this may
be relevant only for long exposure at nights. The test was done during
daylight in open shade.
I'm really confused by that.
Did anybody experience such weird behavior of his EOS-3 ?
Any comments are welcome.

I guess I should bring the body to the authorized service point to check it
thoroughly and adjust metering system.

Regards,
Alex Z
