I have both the Sigma 15mm fisheye and the 17-35mm, and I like both.  They
seem pretty sturdy, and I haven't had any problems in the year+ that I've
owned them.  Contrast and saturation seem pretty good, as does sharpness.
Distortion, of course, isn't an issue with a fisheye, it come with the
territory, but the 17-35 seem pretty good compared to the old Canon 17-35,
too.
