Guy replied:

I've tried that, but found that the slave still has to be a long way
forward of the trigger/camera to receive a signal adequately. If the slave
unit is to my side, or worse still, slightly behind, them I'm stuffed. I've
also had problems if there's a height difference between the two units.
Does anyone know if the SP-E2 trigger unit gives out a wider range of
signal?
