I just picked up a "used" 28-135 IS from B&H it cost about $100 less than a new one, and turned out to be a refurbished unit form Canon which looks brand new to me - for the $100 I saved off the new price I added a hood, filter and swag of film, so at this point, I must say that buying used from B&H has been pretty satisfying..

I really like this lens so far, it adds to my 17-35/2.8 and 700-200 f4 ( a real bargain now ) a 100 2.8 macro and a 50 1.8..

it is a welcome addition and I concur with the many comments that this is an ideal walking around lens and fills a big gap for me in the "snap shot of the kids department" The IS really amazes me, it works very well.. now if I can get a kid stabilizer to go with it I might get some sharp pictures of them.. Which is what I really noticed about the IS - shooting a 1/8 or so is all very well for a static subject, but not really for my wiggleworms..
