That's not the point. The point is that with smaller sensors you get away
with lenses that have a smaller image circle. That in return allows you to
have smaller, lighter, possibly cheaper, etc lenses and bodies. This is why
the discussion came up about Canon having a new lens line for smaller
sensors. My point (among others) then was that in that case Canon would have
to design different lens lines for different sensor sizes. Of course you can
always use a lens with a bigger image circle on a smaller sensor as you
said.
