Hi Ken: I don't have this lens myself but have used my firend's. It's a decent lens and the optical quality is comparable to 28-105 and 135IS. It's slightly larger (67mm) than 28-105. The distortion at 24 is quite significant and some vignetting. For walking around and travel, I would opt for 28-105 due to the smaller size and lower price.
