Howdy I've been doing some serious thinking on the subject. It seems to me that eventually sensors go down in price to the point that large ones exceeding the 24 x 36 will be very affordable. When that happens I think someone will decide to cover the entire image circle. This would be great since most of the better 35 lenses cover almost 2 1/4 on the sides sometimes without vignetting. Wide angles would get even wider as long as you do panoramics! Best of all you'll be able to crop to whatever format you want! See Ya Javier
