How did you calculate this figure of "30%"? I know VAT is 21% in Belgium,
but according to the EU Taxation and Customs site ...

... and assuming that "digital cameras" have the TARIC-code 8525401100 the
site tells me that the import duties for "digital still cameras" is 0
(zero) % . Which btw also means that "import duties" can't be the reason
that digital camera's are more expensive in Europe than in the US. Somehow
I get the impression that we are here to subsidize the photohobby of our
friends on the other side of the ocean...  ;-)  (big grin here).

So, I would say you have to pay 21% VAT. Period. And maybe something extra
for the paperwork done by the customs officer...
