Hi Bart,

I once won a Tamron lens on an US contest. It came marked "GIFT" but with the
list price on the receipt. It was $500 and I had to pay about EUR155 in
taxes. I don't have the paper anymore (I exchanged the lens for a 550EX) but I
recall that the import form had 21% VAT (BTW) *and* customs duties + the
paperwork fee. That was back in 2001 before the EURO was the official
currency. I don't know if things have changed ever since.

Why Why damn! whY!!!!!????

A 10D SHOULD cost EUR1500 (and it'd be still more expensive than the american
counterpart!). EUR 2100 is just belachelijk (ridiculous)

Groetjes,

Gerard.
