Slightly off this thread..., I just read a posting on an airshow forum that a 10D shutter mechanism started to falter at about 7,500 frames, the owner attempted to loosen it (and had to do it from the front since there isn't a "film back") and was successful for a short number of frames before it failed completely. Would be interesting to see if the D30, D60 and now the 10D have problems with the shutter mechanism or if this 10D incident is just an isolated one.
