In addition to the points mentioned
in the other emails,  I find it
beneficial to have a monitor/card
combo that allows for as high a
resolution as possible while maintaining
a good signal.

I'm not talking about pixel dimensions
per se (as in 1600x1200),  but the
actual pixel size.  Smaller pixels
will help eliminate "pixelation" better,
the effect where one can see pixels
as little squares or rectangles.

A good signal will allow for more
accurately defined pixels,  which
should provided more accurate colors.

Also,  stable graphics card driver
software may be more important than
graphics speed.

I used to have a nice VGA card (TNT2-
based for you computer buffs) with
excellent signal quality,  but the
drivers made using selections in
PhotoShop (aka marching ants) virtually
unusable.  The computer would crash
several times within a few hours.

I eventually switched to Matrox,  and
have since been very happy with the
G200 and its drivers.
