I have an Apple 23 inch LCD Cinema display, used to make colour prints for professional sale via Fuji labs (they supply me with their profile) and an Epson 2100. I also use S9000 and i9100 for proof and display work. My monitor and printers are all individually calibrated with Gretag Macbeth equipment.
The prints from each source are identical to each other and to what I see on the screen.
I have absolutely no problem with colour and can't imagine how a CRT could improve things.
I am not a colour guru so there may be uses where the difference matters, but as a working professional photographer I regard the 23 Apple display a one of the best purchases I ever made.
