I see that you are now the Director of Corporate Communications of BH. So you still are mailing comments in a private list but right now not as a "marketing" people as you did before. It's much better as some of us could think that you were actually selling photographic equipment instead of giving us your clever photographic advices.

You are in the position for knowing that this information is neither "unsubstantiated" nor "rumour". It comes from a Canon important staff man. The embargo is not as strong as PMA is really coming very soon and you, as an important photographic company man, know perfectly that news will be launched some days before.
Here's what I know. I know that no one outside Canon knows what will be and no one inside Canon is talking. I know the reason no one outside knows is _because_ no one inside Canon is talking and I know why no one inside Canon is talking. It's because any who did would be immediately terminated and word would spread at light-speed that the individual in question had blabbed and that person would NEVER work in this industry again. I particularly know that an <important staff man> would be PARTICULARLY sensitive to this issue and far less likely to blab than some part-timer who'd read something inadvertently left on a photocopier and told his roomie. I even know that those of us within this industry who do like our jobs _and reputations_ respect an agreement not to discuss sensitive data before its release date and that an individual who would is ( in my PERSONAL opinion) of low personal ethical calibre. Information from an individual of that ilk is as worthwhile as his promise not to speak of it.
This is MY PERSONAL OPINION and you may take it for what you think it's worth.
