Hi Hugo, Interesting theory ! If you are correct, this might explain why B&H does not have the EOS-1D on sale anymore. So maybe B&H does know more than they want to share with us, or maybe we are just chasing ghosts.
Henry, care to comment on this ? I just hope that the "rumour" is true, which would make the lot of us happy. Products that are about to be replaced, are hard to sell, even with rebates. In the world of digital photography, this is even more true, but Henry could correct me on this, since I'm not a sales expert. If Canon were to announce a replacement for the 1D, before 1D stocks were sold, dealers would end up with a bunch of unsaleable cameras. At the very best, they would have to sell them with no profit margin, or even loose money.
