Henry, with all due respect, you know perfectly well that this kind of information always "leaks" (inavertedly or not, but that is another issue) before the "official" release date. The number of rumours spread throughout the years in this and other lists, that were then officially confirmed, proves it. That you and other people in the photo industry respect your agreements, is not only understandable, but praiseable. It only shows that you are a professional that takes is job seriously. As far as Jim's comment that "We're not talking about news that could actually benefit anyone financially really", I don't completely agree. Products that are about to be replaced, are hard to sell, even with rebates. In the world of digital photography, this is even more true, but Henry could correct me on this, since I'm not a sales expert. If Canon were to announce a replacement for the 1D, before 1D stocks were sold, dealers would end up with a bunch of unsaleable cameras. At the very best, they would have to sell them with no profit margin, or even loose money. So, in my opinion, there are people who can benefit from a "news embargo". * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
