Hi,

With regard to the discussion whether or not the 70-300 qualifies as
L-lens:
IIRC Canon's L-lenses do not change length while zooming, probably to allow
for better dust and wheather protection. I remember seeing a picture
somewhere on the net, and the new 70-300 almost doubles in length when
zoomed to the teleposition.
