I also thought this would be a great approach but was very less that satisfied with the actual use. I have the 40 gig iPod and shoot using 1 gig Utra cards -- the problem with the approach was that it almost totally drained the battery on the iPod during the transfer of a full cf card. When I say almost drained I mean that there was a slim sliver of black on the iPod battery indicator. There is no way to download the card with the iPod plugged in (at least as far as I could figure out)and thus after one download I was forced to find a way to recharge the iPod -- for either music or to get ready for another download. End result -- I now have a $100 Belkin reader sitting on the shelf.
