As an example.  I have the xs-drive II.  I took it on a recent trip to
Hawaii for two weeks.  I downloaded about 700 raw size EOS 10D files and
didn't need to recharge the xs-drive at all.  However if I did need to
recharge then I could have done that one night at the hotel.  If you're
out for a couple of days in the bush you should be fine depending on how
many photos you take.  You can also buy spare rechargeable batteries
quite cheaply for them.  It takes the 'normal' modern laptop drives
which are very hardy in that they're designed to be carried around and
banged up a bit.  I do wish I had a reviewable screen though which is
larger than the camera's.  Some of my photos were not quite what I
thought they were and reviewing would have enabled me to shoot again.  I
believe Archos make a pretty good system which has all the bells and
whistles.  Don't know of anyone who has one of them though.
