I'm not sure where this new lens will fit. It would be a nice small lens
when the 70-200L IS and 100-400L IS are too much to comfortable carry
around, and I've not heard spectacular stories about the optical qualities
of the previous DO lens. It seem the compliments are more like "Yeah, but
look how small and light" rather than "What a sharp lens".

It would be great if it was optically comparable to any of the 70-200L
lenses, but I doubt it will be. But then again, I'm just a lowly top-poster.
