My all time favourite lens on an LX was the A*85mm f/1.4 which is a stellar performer. I think an 85 1.2L would be an excellent choice on a 1D. I had the EF 85mm 1.8 for a while but wasn't using it - the 1.6X crop on the D60 was too severe for the sort of portraiture I prefer. On a 1D it would be more acceptable. This is where a 24-70 would be useful. The Tokina 28-70 has been used more for portraiture than I would have imagined, but on the D60, the crop makes it ideal (aside from the max 2.8 which is not ideal for me - I love a very narrow DOF with faces). The other lens I use the most o the D60 is a Sigma 14 2.8 - again I would like a Canon, but all in good time. The Smegma flares like a hippy on acid, so flagging is essential with landscapes. But as a street lens it is quite acceptable, even wide open. This probably has more to do with the fact that the D60 doesn't see the edges, which if it did would likely induce hysteria.... Thanks for your thoughts.
