Once again I need your help. I'm trying to decide on a tripod and monopod. I think I've got it narrowed down to three brands, but since I can't go to NY to look at them, I thought I'd ask your opinions.
I'm an amateur, and most of my shooting is on the spur of the moment. I currently have a Canon G5 and an ELAN IIe. My biggest lens is the 100-300mm, I expect to get the 75-300mm IS later. I also expect that at some point I will upgrade to the 10D or its replacement. I use a backpack when it isn't too hot to carry. My selections don't have a quick release, because it seems they are all different, even within brands. i.e. I currently have a Brennan C5 by Hakuba, but it has its own quick release plates which don't match anything else. So here are the selections I've made: Manfrotto Digi Tripod 714B 64.1"/17.3", 2.5lbs Digi Monopod 676B 60.6"/18.9", 0.88lbs Velbon 343E 61.8"/16.8", 2.31lb, ballhead and case UP 43 Unipod 63"/20.5", 1lb ball and socket UP 40 61"/18.3", ????? Slik E-Z Pod Monopod 63.4"/20.5", 1lb Sprint Pro w/Ballhead 64.3"/18.9", 1.9lbs, reversible center column Thanks for your time.
