EOS Projected digital images vs slides

I'm betting someone here has experience with this, and I don't have an easy 
way of making the comparison myself.  I'm really curious as to how a 
digital image projected onto a screen with a media projector, powerpoint or 
whatever,  compares with a chemical slide projected with a traditional 
projector.  Is there the same sense of luminosity (one of the great things 
about slides IMO)? Is there a significant difference in image degradation 
at these large sizes?  Any other comments welcome.
