I doubt the Canon would be (much) less expensive than the Sigma.



I've read that the image quality from the Sigma isn't that great - but there's not much else in this range. I've read god things about the Sigma 15-30 - and maybe I'll get that soon. It may even be a little better than the Canon 17-40. Maybe Canon will come out with something new.

Schlake - I see you've got into lens acquiring mode now. How's life in SOcorro.
