There does seem to be something inconsistent in the specs for the 20D

For the 10D a 1.6 crop sensor produces a 3000x2000 mpxl image (6mp)
the 1dmkII a 1.3 crop sensor produces a 3400x2400 mpxl image (8mp)
the 1ds has a full size sensor and produces 11mp.

Unless I read wrong, the 20d has the 1.6 crop sensor. If it still
produces 8mp then they must have increased sampling within the sensor
size , or the image size increase is created artificially.

Maybe I'm missing something ... it just doesn't seem consistent with the
current pattern of Canon digital sensor technology.
