Actually, it appears to do both.  "Off", "On," and the QCD, like the 1
series film cameras, with "Off," "On," and "Beep."  The QCD is superfluous
when the camera is off, and if the switch goes to "On" first, then you can
control whether the QCD is operative, or not.
According to what I've read, there's nothing missing, unless it uses the
RebelD's regimen of dictating what metering with what mode...
