Ask yourself how often have you shot your 28-105 at 50mm? Never is your likely answer. Be honest.
Then again, try using your 28-105 in low light and you'll be sorry you sold your 50mm... The 50mm f/1.8 is probably the best quality vs price lens you'll ever find. It's as sharp as they get and has at least 2.5 stops over the 28-105...
