OK, I've always said here that there are times a fast lens is needed.
The point I'm trying to make is - for how many photographers is it
really that important? And my thinking is very few and not very often.

Besides, if you really just want to get an image, you'd just use
flash. Much better than the image you'd get handholding at that low a
light level.

See there are other options. While I've admitted there are times that
the fast lens is superior, I've found those times are not worth
carrying around a heavy and expensive lens that's hardly ever used - I
can shoot another way using what I have.

So if you or anyone else on the list feels that they really need fast
glass, please buy it and good luck to you.
