I just noticed in the nice German catalogue of Brenner's Fotoversand
that Nikon is currently the only one offering an (equivalent) 24-85mm
compact....(the Coolpix 8400)
(and that the Ricoh 28-100/135mm compacts are half the price of
Canon/Minolta/Nikon....shame that Ricoh doesn't offer what they once
did with analog, a 21mm compact)
Willem (who can't understand that still no manufacturer has gotten
hold of this very lucrative wide angle niche, at least now that
increasing resolution can compensate the lesser subject detail....and
the first one launching a true swing-lens digicam will make even more
profit) Jan
