Interesting, they are certainly right about the need for a wider macro-lens. I've been using the EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro and the multiplication to 80mm equivalent is very noticeable. The EF 180mm f/3.5 L Macro must become quite a telephoto on the 1.6X cameras. I wonder if this one will be cheaper than the EF 50mm f/2.5?

But the EF-S 60mm f2.8 isn't wider than 50mm :-(

I've seen the web-site where the EF-S 18-55mm is converted to work on non EF-S cameras (and know someone who's done it). Does anyone know if the conversion has been successfully tried on the EF-S 10-22mm lens so it can be used on the EOS 10D (and D60 and D30)?

There is a link on Bob Atkins site:

http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/rumors.html

for a modification to the EF-S 17-85 IS to make it suitable for the 10D.
He doesn't list any modifications for the 10-22, however.

Cheers

Keith
