Hi Yuri,
This link will be useful:

For street, I find a good lens is the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L, although if
you're on a budget, you might find even used examples too expensive.
Basically, anything with the letter 'L' after it is superior quality, and
superior price!

A year or so ago I was looking for a 24-70 or so lens, and had three
samples of the Canon f/2.8 lens to try. In the end I got a Tamron
28-75/2.8, and while I wish I had the 24mm short end, I'm very happy
with the lens. Focussing is fast enough, it's light, and optically it
is truly outstanding, both on film and on my 20D. It's not as good as
the better primes in its range, but neither, certainly, is the Canon
24-70.
On the other hand, for the subjects you mention I would tend to
favour primes; a 24/2.8 and 50/1.4 would make a good combo.
