I've downloaded a few of the images from Canon, and of course they
looked beautiful. I think shooting in the studio, or on a tripod with
good light the two cameras will produce similar quality images. I
think
the HUGE difference will be in the higher ISO's with the DIGICII
processing. My experiences with the 1Ds were great in the studio,
but as
a wedding photographer I really didn't use the camera much in the dark
churches and receptions. The noise would get pretty wild above
400ISO,
especially if it is underexposed any. (The ETTL2 is a big plus
over the
1Ds as well)
I'm eagerly waiting to see some 800, 1600 ISO shots from the 5D!
dpreview.com has some images up now, including at least one at 3200.
I saw a 1250 in there too, but I didn't look at it very closely. The
3200 has visible noise, but I'd almost certainly take it over film at
ISO 800, and probably over 400 as well.
