Not here- just my view from the Bridge. To each as they wish. Some times I shoot with a 200 1.8 and it takes the little filters in the tail- first time I saw that front glass
I thought- dang I don't want to buy filters for the front of that!! HAHA :>)

I recommend you rethink your reasoning before buying filters
for protection.  Using filters to protect your lens is seldom
cost effective, and reduces image quality.

In most situations, I recommend you merely use a lens hood
when shooting, and immediately put the lens cap on when you
take the lens hood off.


I hope we aren't going to have the filter/no filter argument again, it's
like the Canon\Nikon argument, each side is convinced they're right and
neither ever wins. Obviously, there are arguments that can be made for both
sides of the discussion, and most of us have heard them all.
