BTW now that Nikon has one in VR 200 f2 I would think that Canon would reintroduce the lens. Was very popular with the fashion world. I love it for portrait work and great for candids at weddings-great for kidnapping faces. Use a 580ex in the shoe and you get great faces.

Oh Ouch!! Was not aware that they could not work on that lens. Talked with a tec about a yr ago when I joined CPS and asked if they could do a CLS on it, He said it was a pricy glass to work on but to send it in and get a quote. Works fine but no manual focus.

Funny you should mention that exact lens, I was thinking of it when I
replied. It would be a perfect candidate for some sort of frontal protection
since Canon no longer has replacement parts for it (including the front
glass). At least for those who chose to use filters :)
