Hi Miha,

If you feel you have not needed short lenses so far you are missing a huge
opportunity photographically. Being primarily an architectural photographer
now I rely on wide-angle lenses and FF sensors all the time. My favorite
lens for WA work is the EF 15 2.8 Fisheye and software to de-fish the
images. I don't know how people manage without a full frame body anyway,
even when I used to shoot a lot of motorsports I really missed the
wide-angle end of my lens quiver when I went fully digital until the EOS 1DS
became available.

If you use the EF 28-135IS a lot in the middle focal length ranges the EF
24-105 4L IS will be a revelation and a HUGE improvement in sharpness,
contrast and focusing speed as will the f/4 speed at the long end of the
zoom. Additionally with the newer 3rd generation Image Stabilization the EF
24-105 4L IS will show you what your EF 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS lens should have
been in the first place. If the EF 24-105 4L IS as we know it today had
been available instead of the EF 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS I would most likely have
bought one instead of the EF 28-70 2.8L I still use today as one of my
primary lenses.

Buy the 24-105 4L IS and consider a nice used EF 200 2.8L to fill out your
lens collection on the long end. The EF 200 2.8L is an optically and
mechanically excellent lens and it's even cheap! In general photography
200mm is generally as long as is regularly needed especially on a small chip
(1.6X), DSLR.

Another option on the short end is to sell of the 17mm Zenith FE and look
into an EF 20 2.8USM or EF 15 2.8 Fisheye to complement your primary lens.
Both of these lenses are not too expensive as EF mount lenses go and both
can produce very sharp images if used with good technique. Sigma's Fisheye
is a bit less money but also not nearly as sharp which shows up when you
defish the image to look like reclinear image.

Good luck!

Cheers/Chip
