Pattie,

Let us know what happens. Some of us, like me, still have a 20D.

Thanks,
Bob

I shipped it by Fed Ex on Monday, and Canon received it Tuesday
morning, but apparently had a backlog and didn't get to it until
today. I got an estimate by email for $305, which breaks down as $290
for minimum labor charge with minor parts, plus $15 for return
shipping (with a disclaimer that they could find additional damage
that would increase the price), and an estimated repair time of seven
business days. The estimate included this language:

Hmmmmm, I wonder why I got the above post when I still haven't gotten Pattie's post about the cost.......

If it goes much above the $305 I would have to agree with Mr Bill. If it goes way above the $305 I'd be seriously considering a 40D too.

Thanks,
Bob
