Dan and Tim, Please take a good read through http://edburkhead.com/Ercoupe/oil_blow_out.htm I'll suggest that if you install the elbow extension, you'll solve your problems with oil coming out the breather tube. Especially with an O-200. The fellow I write about who had SEVERE oil blow-out also had an O-200. There IS a relationship. I THINK it's because of the higher rpms you turn with the O-200 but there may be some other cause. For a long time I thought I was seeing things, but have since concluded that my Coupe is just playing with my mind. It's good to hear that I'm not the only 'nut' out there is experiencing something similar. Nothing like having an INCREASE in the oil level after a flight (level goes from 4 to 5 quarts). I've had that happen several times. At first I thought I was hallucinating (nope). I have a theory that some of the oil may get trapped in the spin on STC'd oil filter from time to time and doesn't drain down into the sump, but that's not based on anything other than a guess since I can't think of any other reason for it. I never put more than 5 quarts in my Coupe anymore, since anything more ends up blowing out the breather & onto the planes belly (yuck). Do you have a spin on oil filter or oil cooler? I have a spin on oil filter and no oil cooler. My oil cap only goes on one way, so that's out. I'd love to hear if anyone actually knows why this happens. This ought to be good for a few stories and wise cracks about our sanity. Hey, if anyone asks I only claim to be marginally sane. However my observation is that 'marginally sane' puts me well ahead of most. ;-) Dan N3968H ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim and Martha Briggs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 13, 2004 2:31 PM Subject: [COUPERS-FLYIN] Dirty Belly - Oil level mystery > ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- > > > Ercoupers: > > I have a question concerning the oil level in my O-200.
