Now I understand where you are talking
about. Yes there is a small notch cut out in the metal glare shield behind my
airspeed indicator but it is small and goes nowhere near the windshield. I think
it is only an inch or two. The only thing that will not fit is the new plastic
glare shield which I don’t miss at all.

Windshield Question
Kevin: I have not tried to put in the
Alon style with a flat windshield, but the information I got with the Alon
panel indicated that you needed the bubble windshield in place in order to use
the floating panel with the gyros. They are mounted quite high, and I believe
you must cut out the glare shield in order for the altimeter to fit. If you cut
out the glare shield, you cut into the area below the flat windshield in front
of the pilot.
