Wonderful Mustang Bill!!

After reading your message below, I thought $1,200.00?!. That could be a
down payment on a Ercoupe 415-C, (Sport Pilot version). Then I saw
$10,000.00 and I thought WOW, if I knew I was going to spend that much
on a model, I would just go ahead and buy "The Real McCoy"! But I also
know that when a person starts on a model project it's not their intent
to spend that much, it just seems to always turn out that way! I
currently have a Powered Parachute (PPC), and when I bought it I though,
don't fix it up, just fly it and enjoy it. WRONG! My human
nature to have things nice kicked in and I have almost completely
rebuilt the thing! It was a little beat up, then neglected, but now she
is almost new again (99%). I force myself to ignore the cost and just
enjoy every flight! The labor is a true labor of love. I roll her out of
it's enclosed trailer, put her in my garage, listen to the radio (Big
Band Music), and work on her. One would think it 1944 and the war is on.
Well, it's 2006 and there is a war on (of sorts).
Anyway, If God willing, I could sell my PPC and use the money to move up
to a Ercoupe I would. I've fallen in love with the little Ercoupe
airplane. My wife tells me she always knows when I have a love affair
with an aircraft, she starts seeing printed info all over the house and
it's the only subject of conversation I want to have with her. Then I
find one at a local airport of course we have to make a Sunday drive out
to "just look". My wife says it's not fair because she does not know how
to defend against an airplane.
Model or real thing it's all flying and it's all fun!

Happy and Safe Landings!

I am seeing some interest in the models suddenly. I would like to know
who all would want an RC model of their Ercoupe. I might be convinced
to build more than one if there is an interest. Before you get excited
though you must realize how much an RC scale model costs to build. A
ready to fly custom built model will be anywhere from $1200. up
depending on size and detail. I bought an Ercoupe because after I added
up how much my last model cost and saw I had spent over $10,000. on it I
decided to buy a full size plane. If you want to see that model go here

Guys and gals,

The ONLY way any editor can make a publication good is through
contributions. Yeah, a slick magazine can pay writers but a club
magazine
just can't.

It's up to YOU to send notes, tidbits, stories, articles and pictures to
Carolyn for Coupe Capers or to Mitch (webmaster) for ercoupe.org. Their
contact information is easily available on http://ercoupe.org
<http://ercoupe.org/>

When I edited Coupe Capers, I made a point of begging for material. And
the
members came through.

These lists are a fast food kind of sharing. We tend to give good
mutual
support. But, we don't go much into long, thorough articles.

I'd STRONGLY encourage any of you who've learned something to write it
up in
any way you can and send it in.

Mitch, the webmaster, is extremely busy at his day job these days. But,
if
you send him an e-mail with a relatively complete story, he can easily
slap
a page up on the website.

The same is true for Coupe Capers. If you send it in by e-mail, Carolyn
doesn't even need to retype it.

A club is a, well, a CLUB! It's got to have members.

Ed -

For what it's worth, the web site is not well organized or user friendly
to
those of us who aren't computer gurus.

For instance, I can't figure out what's on the "For Sale" page - just a
bunch of gibberish to me.

Jerry,

Wish I could help on the EOC website. I'm somewhat puzzled, though,
because
I was webmaster when most of the website was developed.

Mitch has changed some but I don't think he's changed the majority of
it.

But I haven't seen the members only section for a couple of years.
Since I
don't have a Coupe, now, and still can't clear my denied medical, I
haven't
been an EOC member for a while.

Are you talking about the "For Sale" section on http://ercoupe.org
<http://ercoupe.org/> or the "For Sale" section on http://ercoupers.com
<http://ercoupers.com/> ?

Jerry was having problems with the "For Sale" section of the website and
I
asked:

* Are you talking about the "For Sale" section on

*     http://ercoupe.org <http://ercoupe.org/>  or the "For Sale"
section on

*     http://ercoupers.com <http://ercoupers.com/>  ?

Jerry answered:

> The latter one - I guess I confused the two.

Jerry, That's why I asked - it's an easy confusion.

Inside the EOC website, http://ercoupe.org <http://ercoupe.org/> you'll
find the current and, I think, past issues of Coupe Capers including the
Members Ads. These are in the members only section so you have to sign
in
and, naturally, be a member. Besides the current ads, the past ads can
be
really valuable since sometimes a plane doesn't sell when it's
advertised.
You might get a good deal by calling and checking on those who've
advertised
in the last half-year.

http://ercoupers.com <http://ercoupers.com/> is part of Tom
Laird-McConnell's personal Coupe website and it includes a WIKI "For
Sale"
section. A WIKI page is something that anyone can edit. You can go to
http://ercoupers.com <http://ercoupers.com/> and click on the "For
Sale"
link in the left column then add your own advertisement. If you are new
to
Wiki, there are instructions on how to edit text.

Example: Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ercoupe

Right at the moment, there's nothing being advertised on Tom's site.

I don't know how many people use Tom's "For Sale" site but I'd encourage
anyone to use it.
