Kevin, No need. Any plane with a serial number in the appropriate range IS ELIGIBLE as a C. It says so in Aircraft Specification A-718. Ditto with the 415-CD. Again, no need. If you have a C, fly it. The CD gives you no regulatory advantage. If there's a CD feature you want, you can certainly ask for approval via a form 337 justifying it as an improvement used in the CD. But both the C and CD are eligible for the 1320 lb. gross weight STC.
