To get Acrobat Reader, go to http://www.adobe.com and click on the button
to
download Acrobat reader.  I think the current version is 5.1.

On about the second screen, in the left column be SURE to check the box
saying you want the extensions to let you search the document.  In the
center column feel free to put in your true name and e-mail address - I've
never seen Adobe abuse this in hundreds of private and corporate
downloads.
Be sure the check boxes are UNchecked so you won't get advertisements if
you
don't want them.

The download is fairly big but lots of documents require it.  If you have
a
good connection you can say to open and run the program from its present
location.  If your connection is iffy, download it and run it after the
download.

How do I download a pdf peogram so I can read a file? I've downloaded the
