I'm writing to see if I read the AD right..... Ck the new AD and you
will find they require only specified scopes be used and if I read it
right you have a year (or next annual) from Feb. 14, 2003 and than if no
appreciable corrosion is found than it will be good for three years. I'm
afraid if a inspection and sign off doesn't fit the new ruling it would be
in violation of The AD and your plane would not be airworthy.... Jim

I did my annual back in July 02 and while I had the plane apart, I decided
to go ahead and take the wings off. I think that it is easier and you can
see more with the wings off and its not that hard to do. After everyone
looked to see what they could find, no one found anything but a little
dirt, which I cleaned out then corrosion X the whole thing. My IA signed
off the annual and made a log book entry noting the center section
inspection had been done, I'm good till 2005.
