Just had my annual in Mar. After the Mec. took off the fairings and disconnected the aerolins wiring and pitto lines , which took very little time. took off the 4 nuts on both wings . from there it was a five min, job per wing to take off. going on was just as easy. The Mec. and his Dad said it was the easiest wings they ever took off and put back on. (the Mec's. Dad and Grandfather have been in the flying bus.. from spraying mec. work and FBO for sixty years)OH yes they had upright stands to hold the wings, With the wings on these stands they could inspect through the swiss cheese openings very easy. With the wings coming off that easy I would NEVER cut the holes in the fuselage. I would fight the FAA on a new AD that would say I had too. I even wish they had a Bi-Annual or 100hrs. for inspection. Most of us don't fly enough to justify the cost.
