Alan,

There has been several treads about the Coupe's glide ratio. One in
7/2002
and another in 4/2003. I think the opinion was that it was between
six-to-one and seven-to-one, and will vary depending on gross weight, and
pilot skills. I have a personal rule that I will follow if I ever have a
need (one my AP told me) "look between your feet cause that is were you
are
going to land." As for glide ratio, I will use one mile for every 1,000
feet of altitude (5.3 to 1), but I will not pass up a useable field for
the
perfect field. The added time in setting up final may make the difference

and a rough field may be better than NOT missing the fence or power line
by
a foot. Remember to keep your speed up and fly the airplane.

I love my Coupe dearly, but I love the part I sit on a little more.
