The nose gear cable does not hold the nose gear in the taxi position, it allows the strut to extend somewhat. I think it is past the spring though. I agree it would be nice to have it fully extended but with the dual fork it is more advantages to have the cable. Mooney engineers must have agreed because the M-10 has a cable. Craig 9772M
