   Thanks, that is not what I have. I guess I have an original type after
all. It has been awhile since I had my other Ercoupe and it seemed
different
plus it had a tag on it that made me think it was a replacement. I meant
to
write it down but forgot. Maybe it has a Gerdes tag on it. The price on
the
Matco seams OK. I would be tempted at that price to just change it if
Skyport still has them and the STC paperwork.

That's not the one. Yes, the old original looks much like one with
a built-in reservoir. However the replacement looks very different.

and look at the MC4. However, the part I received didn't have an external
'helper' spring, but neither did the ACS part a few catalogs ago.

That sounds like the problem. If the pedal isn't all the way up, you can't
pass through the MC.
