I checked the electronic tach first against a known rpm to verify it was correct then checked the tach in the plane. There was only 25 rpm difference. These electronic tachs are available at hobby shops and they are cheap. You could also offer a modeler a ride in your plane and ask him to bring his tach.

25 RPM isn't much, but it could put the static out of limits at
annual time - not good if it is checked.
