On a related subject
While studying for my checkride I found out something terrible for
me:
Sport pilots can't even do the limited preventive maintenance private
pilots can do.
Sport pilots are grouped together with recreational and student pilots as
not allowed to do preventive maintenance in their personally owned CERTIFICATED
planes.
We all know that a sport pilot can get a repairman certificate and do
maintenance (even the anual) to their personally owned plane, but only
if it is one of the newer light sport planes, not for certificated planes, like
our Ercoupes.
Depressing...
