Presumably, Wayne just forgot to mention that it is virtually impossible to apply the cling sunshade without removing the ALON canopy (no easy task !), and turning it upside down?
Yup, I forgot to mention that. I applied the static cling material to my old canopy with the canopy still on the plane. That is quite difficult to do, and will probably cause a stiff neck that will hurt for about a week, give or take a day or two. When I put it on the new canopy, I took the canopy off first.
Taking the canopy off is not too hard to do once you know the procedure, and if you have two people available to handle it. Removing the canopy and turning it upside down makes the job of applying the static cling sunshade much easier, but I wouldn't say that it makes it easy! That stuff can be pretty aggravating, especially if you want to get every last air bubble out of it. But once it's installed, it looks good, stays in place, and works great.
