The following will lead you to the EAA web site and an article about
auto gas and alcohol:
http://www.eaa.org/education/fuel/knopp_alcohol.html
I use 100 low lead basically because my home field does not supply auto
gas. If it was available and alcohol free, I possibly would give it a
try. I use it in my boats and by adding a stabilizer to it as I purchase
it, I have had no problems even with fuel that has sat over the winter.
However, I consider a life jacket a much better choice than a dead stick
landing:)

Furthermore. The only danger I can think of with ethanol is if it
freezes up while in flight above 30,000 feet maybe... or in the dead
of winter.
The fuel pump diaphragm is not affected by ethanol, why not use it in
warm climates and altitudes below 10,000 feet?
