As I understand the articles and blogs I've seen on gas for the older Contentental engines (C-65 through C-90) the engines are rated for minimuum of 87 octane avaition fuel -- which is no longer available. The STC's for autogas use (requires both an engine and aircraft STC) requires a maximum of 5% alcohol in the fuel -- again, very hard to find now. When autogas is used, most people recommend an occasional fillup with 100LL. When 100LL is used as the usual fuel, it appears that 25 hour oil changes and plug maintenance is recommended. Is this our currentt situation?
